Indian Government Urges Users of Google Chrome to Update Immediately – Find Out Why
On February 21, CERT-IN, which comes under the Government of India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, issued a “serious” warning to users of Google Chrome on desktop platforms.
It was found that those versions of Google Chrome have “multiple vulnerabilities” and that an attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities and potentially allow a remote attacker to “execute arbitrary code on a target system.”

CERT-In emphasizes that these vulnerabilities exist in Google Chrome “due to Out of bounds memory access in Blink, Use after free in Mojo, Assessibilty; Incorrect implementation in site isolation, content protection policy, navigation and insufficient policy enforcement in download.” And that an attacker could use these vulnerabilities to trick a victim into visiting a “specially crafted” website.
There are affected versions of Google Chrome
– Google Chrome versions earlier than 122.0.6261.57 for Mac and Linux.
– Google Chrome versions 122.0.6261.57/.58 earlier versions of Windows.

1. Go to the menu with three dots in the upper left corner.
2. Select Help from the options.
3. Click About Google Chrome.
4. Google Chrome starts an automatic check for updates and installs them if necessary.
4. After making sure your browser is up to date, a message will appear that says “Google Chrome is up to date.”
